Catdoku turns that simple idea into a logic puzzle with colorful grids. You find a spot for each cat and cross out the bad choices. The board slowly becomes smaller in your mind as more answers appear. One correct cat can reveal several new moves. Your goal is to use these rules together until every cat has a safe place.
Catdoku Highlights
Each puzzle asks you to place a limited number of cats on the grid. Each cat needs its own row and column. Each color can also contain only one cat. There is one more rule that makes the puzzle harder. Cats cannot touch each other, even at a diagonal.
You click cells to drop helpful X marks on impossible spaces.
They show which cells have already been ruled out. This is helpful when a board has many open spaces. X marks also make patterns easier to see. You can quickly spot a region with only one remaining cell. They turn small deductions into visible progress.
Every correct placement removes several options. This is the main trick behind Catdoku. You are not only finding where a cat belongs. One placement also shows which spots are no longer available.
If two possible cells remain in one region, leave them for now. Work somewhere else. Another placement may remove one of those choices later.
Stop making new placements for a moment. Look for a region with fewer possible cells. Check which rows or columns already contain cats. You can also use a hint if the puzzle still has no clear opening. Returning to basic rules often reveals a missed clue.
